Robert Nisticò was born in London and grew up in Italy. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery and specialised in Psychiatry at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart. He is Full Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and is currently President of the Italian Medicines Agency. He has collaborated with the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and has been a member of the Committee for Orphan Medicinal Products and the Scientific Advice Working Party. He is the author or co-author of over 186 publications in international scientific journals. He has been awarded two Marie Curie Fellowships and has been an Honorary Lecturer at the School of Pharmacy at the University of Nottingham.
