Paola Catapano

Head of Editorial Content Production, Science Communicator, CERN

With a Master’s degree in science journalism from SISSA Trieste, she joined CERN in 1990 as the personal assistant to Nobel laureate Carlo Rubbia ; currently leads the Editorial Content production in the communications group. Author of over 40 science documentaries for RAI and three books, she chronicled scientific research from CERN, Antarctica, the Arctic and other remote areas of the planet. She founded and chairs Polarquest.org, an environmental association organizing citizen science expeditions on sailboats. She crossed the 82nd parallel North in 2018 where she sampled cosmic rays and microplastics at the highest latitude.
