Filippo Caruso is a Full Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Florence. He has received various awards, including the 2006 Majorana Prize (Rotary International) and the 2015 Physics Prize (Accademia dei Lincei, presented by President Mattarella). He graduated in Physics in Catania in 2005 and obtained his PhD from the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa in 2008. He was a researcher abroad (postdoc at Imperial College London and Marie Curie Fellow at Ulm University) until 2012, when he returned to Italy as FIRB coordinator, another Marie Curie Fellowship and “brain gain”. He has over twenty years' experience in quantum science and technology and quantum AI.
