Dimitri Dello Buono

Head of the geoSDI Laboratory and Expert in GIS and Remote Sensing, CNR

A CNR technologist, he has decades of experience characterised by a dual civil-military profile, integrating theoretical research with practical application in operational and major emergency contexts. At international level, he has been a delegate for NATO (DGIWG), has managed UN-WFP projects in emergency situations such as Palestine, Zambia and Congo, and was a member of the team that drafted the European INSPIRE directive. He has held senior institutional positions, such as Head of Technical Secretariat at the MIT during the Morandi Bridge emergency and currently as an expert for the Special Commissioners for Reconstruction, where he applies AI and Digital Twin for territorial governance.
