Abdulaziz Malik AlMalik
Deputy Minister for Research and Innovation at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Saudi Arabia (since 2023).
He previously held senior leadership roles at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), including Vice President for Scientific Research Support, Vice President for Innovation and Technology Commercialization, and Director of the Life and Environmental Sciences Research Institute. He was also part of the founding team of the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority (RDIA).
Dr. AlMalik serves on several national boards and committees, including the National Center for Research and Development of Sustainable Agriculture (Estidamah), the Advisory Board of KAUST’s National Transformation Institute, and the Boards of Trustees of Tabuk University and Qassim University. He is also a trustee of the Almarai Prize for Scientific Innovation.
He holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (University of Manchester, 2013), an MSc in Clinical Pharmacy (University of Glasgow, 2008), and a BSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences (King Saud University, 2005). He has published over 50 scientific papers and holds multiple patents in pharmaceuticals, alongside leading and co-leading major national RDI endeavors such as the Saudi Genome Program and the National RDI Strategy.
