IMTAI Awards 2025 | |
The International Multidisciplinary Task Force on AI Agents Intelligence (IMTAI) has awarded the AI 2025 Prizes to two projects that exemplify the convergence of technological innovation and ethical responsibility: AI-IstatData and Yiami - Cognitive Experience Platform.
Both initiatives are tangible examples of how the principles outlined in the IMTAI Manifesto on Artificial Intelligence - Classification as Foundation, Risk as Metric, Technological Humanism - can be translated into operational, measurable, and sustainable architectures. |
AI-IstatData - Participatory Governance of Public Data
The first award was granted to AI-IstatData, a project developed by the Italian National Institute of Statistics (Istat) in collaboration with DedaNext, for its exemplary contribution to ethical and transparent governance of artificial intelligence in the public sector.
The IMTAI Scientific Committee classified the system as a Class B-T5-F3 AI Agent, according to the IMTAI taxonomy (Digital Agent – Self-Supervised – Research/Analysis Function).
By integrating natural language conversational assistants into the IstatData platform, the system enables access to and analysis of over two billion statistical records, ensuring inclusive and controlled distribution of analytical intelligence.
The human-in-the-loop approach adopted by Istat allows users to: formulate queries in natural language;
select and validate datasets suggested by the AI agent; customize charts, tables, and maps;
ensure a continuous improvement cycle based on transparency and human validation. | |
The vector-based semantic infrastructure was designed in compliance with Istat’s data security and protection policies, integrating open AI models in a cautious, verifiable, and human-supervised manner. The project is now considered a European benchmark for digital public administration, and an operational model for transforming public data into validated, accessible knowledge. |
Yiami - Cognitive Experience Platform
The second award was given to Yiami, for its innovation in multimodal human-AI interaction and its full alignment with the principles of the IMTAI Manifesto. The platform, developed by a European research and business consortium, has been classified as a Class B-T6-F4 AI Agent (Digital Agent – Hybrid/Lifelong Learning – Control/Orchestration Function).
Yiami combines generative models, predictive analytics, and contextual semantic memory, enabling adaptive, multichannel, and transparent cognitive experiences in sectors such as retail, education, and smart interaction.
The architecture is based on a dynamic vectorial knowledge graph with native explainability and technical-ethical risk mitigation, in accordance with the Risk as Metric principle.
The multi-agent orchestration framework complies with the three levels of governance defined by IMTAI: by-design, with capacity limits and continuous logging;
by-default, with sandboxing and least privilege principle; by-governance, with auditing and organizational-level accountability . |
Thanks to this vision, Yiami positions itself as a new paradigm of human-centered AI, uniting generative power, cognitive sustainability, and operational transparency. |
Conclusions
With these recognitions, IMTAI reaffirms its mission: to promote an artificial intelligence that is classifiable, assessable, and governable — where technological advancement is inseparable from human values and ethical oversight. AI-IstatData and Yiami represent two complementary trajectories — public and private, data and interaction — that are shaping the path toward a reliable, verifiable, and sustainable AI for the Europe of tomorrow.
